We will once again be providing a nutritional snack program at W.J. Watson P.S. The Snack Program will be available on Tuesdays and Thursdays during our nutritional break at 10:30 a.m. The snack program begins, Tuesday, September 20th, 2016. All of our students and members of the school community are served a healthy snack on Tuesday and Thursday. It is our hope that by celebrating healthy eating together, students may further develop a desire to eat healthy foods. Funding for the program is provided by the Ministry of Children and Youth Services.
The goal of the Student Nutrition Program is to provide access to nutritious meals and snacks for children and youth so they are ready to learn. Participation in a nutrition program can play and important role in maximizing student success and the healthy development of children and youth.

The following items will be served:
Cheese and crackers, strawberries, apples, oranges, watermelon, pineapple, cantelope, peppers (mixed), small tomatoes, cucumber, celery with cheese whiz, carrots, snap peas, cheese strings, yogurts (tubs and tubes), trail mix (cereal, pretzels, raisins, cranberries etc., muffins (carrot and zucchini), grapes.
