Jump Rope for Heart and Heart Healthy Presentation

We are pleased to inform you that W.J. Watson Public School has surpassed its fundraising goal for the Heart and Stroke Foundation.  Our Jump Rope For Heart event raised $6065.00 for heart and stroke research and community support programs.  Our goal this year was to raise $5000.00 and as you can see, we raised even more than that!

Students will receive their prizes and tax receipts in the next few weeks.

Thank you again for your commitment to keeping kids healthy and fundraising to help others.  We look forward to “jumping“ again with you next year!

On Monday, June 13, students in grades 3 to 6 will be listening to a presentation from the Heart and Stroke Foundation entitled “Heart Healthy Kids“.  Each 30 minute presentation will focus on keeping our hearts healthy by eating nutritious food, exercising regularly and keeping away from tobacco.

If you have any questions or concerns, please give the school a call at 905-476-1618.

Jump Rope for Heart!

Students spent a warm, summer afternoon celebrating “Heart Health” by skipping, playing basketball and playing other games during our Jump Rope for Heart activities.  Thank you to all those students, and their families, who made donations to this worthy cause.  Special thanks to Mrs. Bartlett for all her work organizing a “heart-y” afternoon of fun and activity!
